Tamarix Capital Partners II, L.P. Receives SBIC License

Tamarix Capital Partners II, L.P. (Tamarix), a private investment firm, is pleased to announce that it has received a license from the U.S. Small Business Administration to operate as a Small Business Investment Company (“SBIC”). Tamarix will continue the strategy of its prior SBIC fund by making debt and minority equity investments in U.S. privately held businesses.

Headquartered in New York, NY with an office in Chapel Hill, NC, Tamarix provides flexible capital solutions to U.S.-based privately held businesses. The principals at Tamarix are an experienced team, having invested over $3.5 billion in approximately 225 transactions across the lower middle market.

Tamarix partners directly with business owners and management teams, as well as independent sponsors and private equity sponsors to finance growth strategies, changes of control, acquisitions, and recapitalizations. The new fund seeks to partner with companies that have $3 to $15 million of EBITDA and invests $5 to $20 million in each business (with the ability to lead debt transactions as large as $50 million), in the form of unitranche debt, subordinated debt, and minority equity co-investments.
