Tamarix Capital Partners (“TCP”) provides debt and minority equity to support growing U.S. lower middle market companies with profitable and sustainable business models characterized by responsible ESG and employee practices. We partner with owners, operators, management teams, independent sponsors, and private equity sponsors to assist with a variety of financing needs including recapitalizations, leverage buyouts, growth capital, and corporate restructurings. TCP seeks to provide capital to companies that generate between $3 million and $15 million of EBITDA and $10 million and $100 million of revenue. TCP targets investment sizes of $5 million to $35 million, with the ability to fund larger transactions in conjunction with our limited partners.

Mark Hauser

Managing Partner

Mark Hauser is the Founder and a Managing Partner of Tamarix Capital Partners. Mark has over 30 years of experience in private equity, private credit, asset management, and investment banking. He founded the Tamarix Group in 1993 as an investment firm dedicated to providing flexible financing solutions to lower-middle-market companies led by U.S. and non-U.S. family offices. 

Mark was the founding partner of Tamarix Equity Partners, L.P., the group’s most recent private equity fund. He also co-founded Swat Equity Partners, L.P., a consumer-focused venture fund. Previously, Mark was a Senior managing director at OFS Capital Management and a member of its investment and executive committees. He was responsible for middle-market lending, having founded the firm’s SBIC Fund through OFS Capital Corporation. 

Prior to joining OFS Capital Management in 2010, Mark worked at companies such as Sandell Asset Management—an international multi-strategy alternative asset manager, where he founded and was global head of the firm’s private equity practice, FdG Associates, a New York-based middle-market private equity fund focused on investing in family-owned businesses—and Ocean Capital Corporation, a private international investment banking firm.

Mark has participated on numerous private and public Boards of Directors and philanthropic organizations. He is a member of the Economic Club of NY and YPO/WPO. Mr. Hauser holds a Master of Law from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a Bachelor of Economics and Bachelor of Law from Sydney University.

Jeff Dombcik

Managing Partner

Jeff Dombcik is a Managing Partner of Tamarix Capital Partners. Jeff has over 30 years of experience in commercial and investment banking, private equity, and private credit. During his career he has participated in over $3.0 billion of investments in over 200 privately held companies in a variety of industries.

Jeff was previously a Managing Director at Benefit Street Partners, a $27 billion credit platform, and a Senior Managing Director and member of the investment committee and management committee of Triangle Capital Corporation, a $1.2 billion credit and equity platform.

Prior to joining Triangle Capital, Jeff worked at South Franklin Street Partners, an SBIC focused on ESOP transactions. He was also an Executive VP & Partner of Edgewater Capital Partners, a private equity fund focused on lower middle market companies. Prior to Edgewater, Jeff worked at McDonald & Co., Brown, Gibbons, Lang and Banc One in various capacities. Jeff has served on numerous private company boards of directors and philanthropic organizations.

Jeff holds a Master’s in Business Administration from John Carroll University and a Bachelor of Science from Miami University.

Holbrook Forusz

Managing Director

Holbrook Forusz is a Managing Director of Tamarix Capital Partners. Holbrook has over 23 years of direct principal investing in both private credit and private equity. 

Holbrook most recently served as a Managing Director with OFS Capital Management (BDC and SBIC), focused on deal origination, execution, and portfolio management for middle market transactions. Prior to joining OFS, Holbrook was a Senior Principal of Enhanced Capital (SBIC) where he helped form, raise, and deploy a $225 million SBIC fund focused on investing debt in lower middle market companies. Prior to joining Enhanced Capital, Holbrook was a Director of M&A for New York Life Investments where he focused on financial service transactions—including acquisitions, minority positions, and mergers. Previously, Holbrook was a Principal at Circle Peak Capital, a lower middle market LBO firm in NYC and was directly involved in the due diligence and structuring of six stand-alone leveraged buyouts, two minority investments, and nine add-on acquisitions.

Before receiving his MBA, Holbrook was an Associate VP at Provident Bank where he worked in structured finance and portfolio management, and was a Senior Associate at the Walnut Group, a lower-middle market private equity firm (SBIC).

Holbrook graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Cincinnati with a BBA and attended the University of Nagoya in Japan. Holbrook also graduated with an MBA in 2005 from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Doug Lancey, CFA

Managing Director

Doug Lancey is a Managing Director at Tamarix Capital Partners. Doug has over 15 years of experience in commercial and investment banking, and private credit.

Doug most recently served as a Vice President in TD Bank’s middle market group focused on sponsor and direct lending. Prior to that he worked at Harvest Capital Credit, a lower middle market-focused Business Development Company (BDC) providing cash flow loans and minority equity investments to companies nationwide. Doug previously spent time working at Evolution Media Capital, an investment banking firm providing M&A advisory services to the professional sports, media, and entertainment industries. Earlier in his career he worked at lower middle market-focused credit funds HighPoint Capital (d/b/a Crescent Direct Lending) and NewStar Financial.

Doug is a CFA Charterholder. In addition, he holds an MBA from the Fordham University Graduate School of Business. During his tenure at Fordham, he studied at China’s Peking University as part of the Beijing International MBA program. He holds a BA from the University of Massachusetts.

Jack Walls is an Associate at Tamarix Capital Partners. Jack has over 3 years of direct investment experience in venture capital, private equity, and private credit.

Jack most recently served as an Associate at Lightview Capital, a lower middle market private equity firm focused on buyout transactions of business services companies. Jack’s role focused on deal origination, execution, and portfolio management. Prior to joining Lightview, Jack was an Analyst at Advantage Capital, a lower middle market impact investment firm utilizing the New Market Tax Credit program to make growth investments across various industries and investment structures. His role at Advantage focused on deal origination, structuring, and execution. 

Jack graduated Cum Laude from Syracuse University with a B.S in Finance & Accounting. 

Steve Myrtil, CPA

Associate

Steve Myrtil is an Associate at Tamarix Capital Partners. He has over 7 years of experience in accounting, investment management, due diligence and investment banking.

Steve most recently served as an associate in Truist’s industrials group. His role focused on providing M&A advisory services to middle market building products, chemicals, and capital goods companies. Prior to joining Truist, he was an associate at Berkeley Research Group (BRG), a global consulting firm. At BRG, Steve focused on preparing quality of earnings (QofEs) reports on lower middle market healthcare companies on behalf of investment banking and private equity clients. Steve previously spent time working at KKR Financial Services, a family office providing wealth management, investment due diligence, and financial reporting services for current and former executives of KKR. Steve started his career at EY working on year-end audits and quarterly reviews for investment banking clients.

Steve is a Certified Public Accountant. He received his master’s in accounting from the University of Notre Dame and graduated Magna Cum Laude from University at Albany with a B.S. in Finance & Accounting.

Alina Stupakevich

Vice President of Finance

Alina Stupakevich is a Vice President of Finance at Tamarix Capital Partners. Alina has more than a decade of experience in financial reporting, fund accounting, taxation, and administration.

Alina most recently served as Engagement Manager at Standish Management, a fund administrator. Alina’s role focused on leading engagement teams for clients with various fund strategies and structures including private equity, private credit, fund of funds, venture capital, and SBIC funds. Prior to joining Standish, Alina was an Accounting Manager and Finance/Tax Analyst at a registered investment adviser and family office focusing on financial reporting, tax compliance, and investment performance for high-net-worth individuals, trusts, private funds, and business entities. Previously, Alina was an Accountant at Wind Point Partners, a private equity firm in Chicago. Earlier in her career she was an international tax consultant at Deloitte.

Alina graduated from DePaul University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.
